A house fire displaced three adults and four kids in Glenmont Forest Tuesday.
At approximately 5 p.m., about 55 MCFRS firefighters responded to a fire at a one-story home at 3700 Brightview Street off Connecticut Avenue according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Public Information Officer Pete Piringer.
The house was unoccupied, according to Piringer’s X post.
Piringer said a faulty bathroom fan caused the accidental fire. It ignited nearby combustible materials that damaged a Romex wire and extended to the attic.
The damages were estimated at $300,000, $250,000 in structure damages and $50,000 in contents.
